Outfit#one dress + collar = 3 outfits

 Photos by Marcela Marjak

My first outfit post!
To be honest I was a little bit nervous-wasn't sure is it something for me and that is why it took me that much time to publish it. However, when Marcel said she could help me out I finally decided to.

Concept was simple- take one dress( the one from my prom) add a collar and see how I can work with it under field conditions. The time has come started to rain. Ok, I take the challenge. What came out of it you can see in this post.

What am I wearing:
Coat: Cubus
Dress: Emamoda
Shoes: noname stolen from my sister
Collar: from my grandma's old shirt
Pink sweater: Marks and Spencer
Striped Sweater: H&M
Ring: Lokaah

Fashion in words- New Generation of models

History in a nutshell

First they were anonymous, badly paid and had no perspectives. The job was just to present clothes. After a while, when first modeling agencies were established the situation got little better. What may be interesting, in those times models were expected to have their hair and make-up done before they come to the shoot. In 1968 Glamour magazine published an article where it called 19 girls a "supermodel". By the 1980, modeling became full-time job and agencies became working globally.

From slim ,to sleek body, to 0 sized girls

What is next in modeling?

Attitude. Nowadays, it is not enough to be slim and tall to get your way in modeling. Top models need to inspire and have their own opinion. They can not be transparent. Facebook and Twitter gave models a voice and what follows way to express themselves. Plus, models who are popular on social media can bring new audience to the brand which cooperate with a girl. Best example can be Coco Rocha, whose Twitter account have more than 500,000 followers.

How can social media help a model?

It can be easily described by words of a designer, Zac Posen:
“I’m not interested in a new girl every season,” said the designer Zac Posen, who has booked Ms. Rocha for his runways for the last six years. “I’d rather have a girl like Coco who’s not just a hanger but a brand all by herself. In a time when the industry doesn’t promote models having voices, she’s really broken the mold.”

So, what is the formula for a super mode today?

I think that what did change in the industry is that in some way it became more accessible. With a development of global agencies and more affordable travels, more girls have a chance to become a professional model. What it caused is increased competition. Even though we might have greater access to this world, it is extremely hard to actually break in. It is not enough to have nice body. Nowadays you need to have your own opinion and say it out loud. I think that models stopped being "just models" now, they are more of the brand themselves. They have to represent something more than just a pretty face. The image of a "stupid girl, who can't get a regular job, so she does modeling" is fighting away. Now, to get to the top you need to be unique and what's more- know something more than just modeling.

Magic of Youtube

Hi Guys!

This time I would like to share with you few of my new discoveries, or maybe one in general.

I am.

I think first no-music channel which I subscribed was
Simply it is " a fun talk show featuring interviews
with some of the biggest names in business and technology."

At first I found it a little bit annoying due to all the pink
and overexcitement, but you have to admit
Jesse Draper have really interesting guests.

Here you have a video of my favourite interview,
the one with Jessia Alba, and yes, she also is
an enterprenuer, furtheremore she owns
pretty amazing company called "The Honest Company".
If you would like to know more- check out the video.

Next one is more fashion related
(actually the first time I came across it was at Valley Girl).
Check in the mirror is a channel dedicated to beauty
Before starting her own blogging career.
Rachel Talbott was a skincare specialist,
I think that is what makes her beauty tips reliable.

Here you have a sample of Rachel telling about skincare routine.

Talking about skin, I also love Lisa Eldridge channel.
I already wrote about Lisa here
She is outstanding makeup artist.
This is one of mine favourite looks she made.

Going into fashion

Two magazines I follow on YT are Harper's Bazaar and Vogue
What you can find there are interviews, backstage videos and updates on fashion events.

If you are interested what is happening inside of the fashion world,
Grance Dore's Channel is what you are looking for.
What her channel is about can be best described by Grance's own words:

"It gives me the opportunity to bring you even closer into the whirlwind of  fashion, into the conversations, the laughter, and the intimacy that makes  this blog what it is."

Here you have one episode of "Pardon My French" by Grance Dore.

If you are looking for a fashion vloger I would recommend you Chriselle Lim.
"Starting off her career as a fashion wardrobe stylist, she logged in years of editorial shoots
with prominent fashion books.". Now, Christelle is "Personal-style blogger and Youtube star".
On her channel you can find plenty of ideas and advices.

Last but not least, Kym Perfetto and her channel KymNonStop
Kym is "bike messenger-turned-fitness guru. Among her students you’ll find
Lady Gaga, Madonna, Charlize Theron, Jake Gyllenhaal and Colin Farrell."
What you can find on her Youtube channel?

Hope you found something for yourself.
